Jeroen Doorenweerd was commissioned by De Kempen Nursing Centres in Bladel to design the Music Kiosk, intended as a spot for residents, visitors and people from the village to meet one another and where performances can take place. The Music Kiosk is made of wood with a weather-proof aluminium interior. The paths behind and to the side of the building and the opening at the rear direct attention towards the middle, the podium. The design of the Music Kiosk is aimed at achieving an optimal acoustic effect at the same time as ensuring an intimate relationship with the public. The podium and the square on which the building stands are concentric. Spectators as well as performers thus experience the circular space as something that envelops them. SKOR
